Benefit from a Therapeutic Massage

Benefit from a Therapeutic Massage

Improving Lives Counseling Service adds Therapeutic Massage to our effective, confidential, helpful and compassionate list if services. Used in China for more than 3,000 years, massage can help ease feelings of alienation, address physical aches and pains, improve mood, and reduce the symptoms of depression. With the addition of Therapeutic Massage, we add a scientifically proven therapy to help in the management of mental health and behavioral disorders

Although it is not a cure the CDC recommends an integrative approach to disease management, specifically in children and adults needing or seeking counseling services and/or psychiatric care. Their research has found Therapeutic Massage helpful in the treatment of hospice patients, children with cancer, children with HIV, pregnant women, lower back pain, tension-type headaches, women with breast cancer, people with chronic disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, premenstrual disorder and in adolescent mothers.

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine has reported on the benefits of massage therapy for the treatment of ADHD, sensory integration, trauma in children and adults, and in convalescent after care. Improving Lives Counseling Services believes in integrative medicine, taking the body, mind, and spirit into account. Manipulating layers of muscle, massage enhances physical functioning and encourages relaxation. The Mayo Clinic reports; “Beyond the benefits of specific conditions or diseases, some people enjoy massage because it often involves caring, comfort, and a sense of empowerment”.

Integrating Therapeutic Massage into our long list of services enhances our treatment of pain, stress, fatigue, recovery, and augments a healthy lifestyle regimen. With variations in areas of focus, pressure, and technique; geriatric massage for anxiety and depression, cranial sacral therapy message for headaches, back, and neck pain, reflexology massage for stress, and trigger point therapy for pain, all fall within the realm of massage therapy.

Improving Lives Counseling Services recognizes significant strides in medical research and advances in client care. We are eager to introduce the benefits of complimenting counseling and therapy services with Therapeutic Massage to our clientele.
