All families are different and often have complex dynamics and challenges. We’re able to meet with just one or every member of the extended and immediate family. Family counseling is our way to address the problems of each member and understand more about how each one supports and relates to the others.
The start of the process involves setting goals and deciding on outcomes. This allows the families to work together to meet those goals, whether it is supporting one member or improving the relationship of all the members. This will depend on the desired outcome or the problems that the family is facing as a whole. We want to offer the most efficient and effective form of treatment.
Family therapy that is brief and focused on a particular solution is often the most appropriate for quick results. The sessions are designed to work towards the final goal, so they’re productive and directed. The best way of doing this is by looking back over the goals throughout sessions to make sure the discussions and topics keep working towards them.
Family counseling is one of the most powerful tools available. It can be used on its own or with other forms of counseling and treatment to work towards specific solutions.
