Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist

jason_noJason graduated from Rogers State University with a Bachelor’s in Community Counseling. He is currently a behavioral health case manager-level 2 at Improving Lives Counseling Services. Although he has only been a case manager for just over a year, he has vast knowledge and experience with helping others. His specialty is working with developmental disabilities and advocacy for the child and parent within the public school system. As a parent of TWO autistic children, he has first hand knowledge with assisting and supporting parents, caregivers, and families in their journey of caring for loved ones with medical, social, psychological, and behavioral issues. As a proud husband whose wife has physical disabilities, he is very well versed in finding resources and systems of care to enhance the quality of life for families. His previous job experiences has given him a great deal of insight and experience in working with at-risk youth to help them gain job skills/education and DHS Child Welfare. All of these life paths has given him a unique perspective and education into “systems 101”, which is understanding and dealing with agencies, government entities, and how they think to ensure the available resources can be attained for his clients. He is very knowledgeable with DHS, Social Security, I.E.P.s, and community resources. Jason recently founded a 501(c)3 charity called Okie Community Help Individual Power Inc. which is based in Rogers County. This program assists at-risk youth ages 12-24 obtain community service hours while teaching them valuable life skills. It is founded on the principle of empowerment and focuses on the youth gaining job/life skills with an emphasis on entrepreneurial development. Jason looks forward to serving the clients of Improving Lives Counseling Services and looks forward to helping you and your family.

Keysha graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education, Health/Physical Education, and Math, a Master of Science degree in Behavioral Sciences with a Psychology emphasis from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. She is certified as a Level 2 Behavioral Health Case Manager, a Teacher, and a Board Certified Human Services Practitioner. She has worked with adolescents in residential and inpatient treatment facilities. Also, she has experience working in the schools providing assistance with the implementation of behavior modification and intervention programs that are used in the classroom. She believes that teens face many challenges that are life-threatening and life-changing. She is always willing to provide them with the support they need. In her free time, she enjoys traveling home to see family, going to the movies, decorating her home, and crocheting.

Richard

Richard, Case Manager at ILCS
Richard has a bachelor’s of social work from Northeastern State University. He has devoted his life to helping other people turn their life around. Richard has worked in programs at Brookhaven Psychiatric Hospital, 12 and 12, and the Bryce House. He is very passionate about what he does and loves showing people that everyone deserves another chance. We are very fortunate to have him working with us at Improving Lives Counseling while he finishes his master’s degree.

Susan

Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist

Susan has a Bachelor’s of Science in ministry and leadership from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, and is currently working on her Masters of Science in crisis and trauma counseling, at Walden University. She has spent many years working as an assistant chaplain for the department of corrections, teaching group courses on codependency and sexual abuse recovery she has also volunteered as a chaplain at Brookhaven Hospital, a mental health and rehab facility, which lead her to seek out how she could use her heart and knowledge to help those struggling in life to find success. In 2013 she obtained her certification from the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services for case management and behavioral health rehab. Susan feels that she can embrace, encourage, equip and empower others to become successful in their lives and then be a tool to help others. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, Optimist International, and a representative of Restoration House, a home for minor victims of sexual exploitation. She is an advocate and speaks in churches as well as in the community for victims of sex trafficking.

Tamra

Tamara
Tamra has a Bachelor of Art in Sociology and a Master of Science in Human Services with a specialization in Criminal Justice. As a former law enforcement officer, Tamra has many years of experience working with diverse populations. She has 13 years of experience in providing case management services and ten years of experience in psychiatric rehabilitation services. She has taught numerous classes on anger management, bipolar education, and parenting education. Tamra finds it immensely fulfilling helping people who are at their lowest point and being able to watch them grow and prosper. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She also serves as an officer on her local parent-teacher organization board and soccer club board.


Yvonne

Yvonne Lewis
Yvonne graduated from Phillips Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in 2012. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma. In May of 2017 she will graduate from Langston University with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and will continue on to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Yvonne’s passion is helping people. She walked away from a successful 27 year career in television news at Tulsa’s Channel 8, to pursue her passion. She inspires people to dream and then equips them with the skills and tools to create the life they desire. Case management is a new path on Yvonne’s journey.

Prior to Yvonne’s career change, she spent 15 years behind the scenes as a community volunteer of which 7 years was volunteering at the Turley Correctional Center and mentoring children in disadvantaged schools in Northeast Oklahoma. Now, through her community service efforts, Yvonne is leading efforts to rebuild families and communities through child abuse prevention, parenting workshops, missions, anti-litter events and community gardening. Her work has been recognized by the Vatican and President George W. Bush called her a “Solider of Compassion.” Yvonne is president and founder of My Kidz International, a 501(c)(3), mentoring organization. Its subsidiary is Leftovers Reclaimed which creates unique products from discarded materials.
